Werk Nr 56158 was a Dornier Do217M-1

History

Coded U5+?? of KG2,[1] 56158 was selected for evaluation in England, after capture at Beldringe, Denmark.[2] The aircraft was briefly flown at Schleswig, on 24 and 25 August 1945, by Captain Eric Melrose Brown, RN, in his capacity as a test pilot for the RAE.[3] Delivered to Farnborough, and designated Air Min 107,[2] 56158 was used by Brown for handling trials on 18 October. Delivered to Brize Norton by Brown on 29 December 1945,[3] 56158 was scrapped at Bovingdon, England,[2] in December 1955.[1]
