History[]
This glider was built at Göttingen in 1944, with a prone-position cockpit and modified control systems. Captured by the British Combined Intelligence Objectives Subcommittee in 1945 at Rottweil, it was moved to Freeman Field, Indiana in the USA, becoming FE-5041. By 1946 it had been transferred to Northrop Corporation at Hawthorne, California along with a Horten Ho IIIf and the Horten Ho VI V2 in 1947.[2]
