Built in 1942, and coded VE+LI of an unknown unit at the time of it's capture, 3059 was redesignated Air Min 87. Registered to Air Couriers Ltd as G-AKZY between 7 June 1946 and 9 January 1950, it was exported to the US circa 1968 as NX2231, becoming N2231 by 10 April 1980.
On 5 September 1991, the aircraft passed to American Airpower Heritage Fly Musm, Midland, TX, before joinng the inventory of the Commemorative Air Force Airpower Museum, Odessa Regional/Midland International Airport, Midland, TX. It was later based at the Commemorative Air Force-New Mexico Wing, Lea County Airport, Hobbs, NM.
Photographed by Mike Henniger at the Planes of Fame Air Show at Chino, California on 2 May 2015, it was later transferred on 24 August 2015 to American Airpower Heritage Fly Musm, Dallas, TX.
