History[]
Built as the 12th example, 280008 was originaly assigned to Transportstaffel 40 (TS/40) as CJ+SF. Following it's capture at Mühldorf, Bavaria by U.S. forces, it was designated FE-4614,[2] and crated up at Newark, for transfer to Freeman Field, on 1 August 1945. Later tested as T2-4614, it was slightly damaged in an accident while at Freeman Field, and passed to the Prewitt Aircraft Co of Wallingford, Pennsylvania on 19th November 1946, [N 1] Recorded as 'sold' in 1955,[3] 280008 was subsequently used as a source of spare parts for FE-4613.[2]
