History[]

Originally operated as D-IDBT,[1] before being acquired by Harold Aldington as G-AFZO on 28 September 1939, 1660 was impressed into the RAF on 23 September 1941,[2] becoming ES955.[3] On 19 September 1946, the aircraft regained it's civil identity of G-AFZO, and returned to the ownership of Harold Aldington, who retained the aircraft until 1 January 1948. Passed to A.F.N. Ltd on 28 May 1948, G-AFZO was sold to a new owner is Switzerland on 20 April 1950.[2] The aircraft survived until it crashed in Sep 1980.[3]
