History[]

Built at Leipheim,[2] and operated as Red 12 by 10./NGJ of 11, better known as Kommando Welter, from Burg near Magdeburg, this aircraft was flown as a night fighter while carrying an unusual camouflage - gray stains on the upper surfaces and black bottom.[3] Captured by the British in Schleswig, and designated Air Min 53, the aircraft was test flown, following the capture and questioning of Messerschmitt chief research test pilot Gerd Lindner, by Captain Eric Melrose Brown,[4] only to be destroyed in a storm in 1947.[1]
