History[]
Ordered under Contract No 402278/35 to spec 38/34,[2] and built as c/n F2604,[3] K8422 was assigned to HMS Eagle as aircraft 4H. On 4 September 1940 the aircraft was lost on a raid against Maritza airfield, Rhodes. Captured and made serviceable, while the crew were all taken POW by Italians, K8422 was flown by 68th squadriglia/34th Gruppo Bombardamento for liaison duties until June 1941, when spare parts from the aircraft were used to keep Swordfish K8403 serviceable till mid 1941.[4]
The ultimate fate of the aircraft is unknown, but it was most likely scrapped.
