History[]

Among the P-39s sent to the USSR, 44-3255 was assigned to 102 GIAP, 2GIAK of Leningrad PVO as "White 25". On 17 June 1944 White 25, together with "White 20", also of 102 GIAP, and "White 26" of 103 GIAP, force-landed in South-Eastern Finland, after getting lost and running out of fuel. [1]

All three were presumably captured by Finland, as White 25's wings were used in the restoration of White 26.[2] together with some components of White 20.
