History[]
Originaly operated as part of the 15th Air Force,[N 1] this aircraft was captured on 12 June 1943 at Capoterra, Italy.
It was condemned missing (non combat) on 20 October 1943, and may be the plane that landed in error, was captured by the Italian Air Force, and flown by Col Angelo Tondi to shoot at two B-17s (42-30093 and 42-30307).[2]
